Nigerian Army chief Buratai has launched policy handbooks for troops

The Nigerian Army has launched four books teaching soldiers about the required policies to follow in the theatre of war.

The books titled Nigerian Army strategy in the Northeast, Telephone and human rights and Information and communications technology were launched on Wednesday, December 7 by the chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai in Imo state at the Chief of Army Staff Conference in the state capital, Owerri.

The books titled Nigerian Army strategy in the Northeast, Telephone and human rights and Information and communications technology were launched on Wednesday, December 7 by the chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai in Imo state at the Chief of Army Staff Conference in the state capital, Owerri.

Buratai told members of the Nigerian Army to read and apply the policies while also noting that the book was written to help officers, commanders and troops currently posted to the northeast area.

The strategies in the handbooks, which are restricted to only Army personnel, he said, would be good for all commanding officers in Army bases across the country.

On policy on strategy in the North-East, Buratai said it was formulated and published for the benefit of officers, especially commanders operating in the area.

He also said that the strategy was good for all aspiring commanders across all the army formations.

Buratai said: “Once you read and apply it, you will definitely operate seamlessly in all Theatre of operations.”

Meanwhile, the Theatre Commander of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Maj-Gen Lucky Irabor, has disclosed that scores of Boko Haram terrorists have been killed in recent operations within the theatre.
