Some PDP members from Alagbado, Lagos state were attacked by Fulani Herdsmen on Saturday as they travelled to attend the PDP non-elective convention that held at Eagles Square, Abuja.
PoliticsNGR learnt that the attack occurred around 4 am at Obajana, Lokoja, Kogi state. An eyewitness to the incident stated;
We were attacked by Fulani herdsmen on our way to the National Convention yesterday early morning around 4 am along Obajana, Lokoja Kogi state. It was a miraculous escape. These young Fulani herdsmen were fully armed.
On how the attackers were confirmed to be Fulani Herdsmen, the witness disclosed;
After the incident, we were able to rough our way to a filling station where we explain our ordeal to the attendants, at first I told them that the attackers were arm robbers in a native attire like that of Fulani but they ( the attendants ) said that they were not armed robbers that they are Fulani herdsmen.
They added that the part we took was their regular spot, they also told us they ( Fulani herdsmen ) have killed many passing through that route.
Later while we were going, the first military check point we saw, we explained to them and the first thing the officer responding to us said was ” why did you take that route, they always attack there.
Later when we got to Abuja, some of the driver’s who had ply that route also share their horrible experience with us.
A man showed us his amputated arm. He said it was due to the gun shot from the Fulani herdsmen. Some told us how many drivers and their loved ones have lost their lives to the hands of Fulani herdsmen in Kogi State.
