The Ebonyi APC state working committee on Friday, September 8, denied the allegation that its members plotted against the rally held in support of President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, September 4.

Briefing journalists in Abakaliki, the state capital, Princess Awam stated that those behind the allegation desired to use the antics to achieve cheap political propaganda and discredit the members of the working committee.

Her words:“We the state working committee members of APC Ebonyi state frown totally with the radio announcement made with our name in 2 local radio stations in Ebonyi state.

“We want to use this medium to disassociate ourselves from such announcement and want to state categorically that we are happy with the return of Mr. President.

‘’We made well to say that its known fact that there is a faction in the APC in our state and we are aware that people will be taking an undue advantage of the problem to discredit the names of the highly respected congress elected members of the state working committee of our great party in the state to buy cheap popularity.”

She however state that despite the factionalization of the party in the state, members of the state working committee are intact, adding that they would stop at nothing in ensuring that peace is restored to the party in the state.

She blamed the duo of Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze and Honourable Ben Nwobashi for the crisis in Ebonyi APC, adding that “unless something is done about this 2 men, the party would continue to experience the problem.”

“We the members of the party are happy with the return of the president upon his recovery and transformation by God almighty.

“We are also in total support of his administration especially in both nfrastructural development and the peace in the country,’’ she concluded.

Meanwhile, the Adamawa state chapter of the APC has stated that, “Yoruba people and some people in the North” pressured President Muhammadu Buhari into contesting for president in 2015.

The organising secretary of the Adamawa state chapter of the APC, Ahmed Lawan made these remarks while condemning claims by minister of women affairs and social development, Aisha Alhassan, who was quoted as saying Buhari had told APC leaders that he would only seek one term in office.
